Under Jawaharlal Nehru, the Congress moved left at its Lucknow and Faizpur sessions, emphasised peasant issues and prepared to contest the 1937 elections under the Government of India Act 1935 while rejecting the Act. The All India Kisan Sabha was founded, Linlithgow became Viceroy, and Sind and Orissa became separate provinces.
